The Aikens Lake Shorelunch ... a highlight of every trip!
Start off by watching your guide clean, fillet and prepare your fish … or simply sit back and enjoy as your guide(s) whip up a fantastic shorelunch for you with a variety of perfected recipes, both fried and baked, in this truly pristine environment.
You will enjoy classic Aikens recipes including favourites such as Walleye Butterflies, Walleye and Pike prepared with lemon-pepper and beer batter. Many of our guests look forward our Aikens Lake Cajun Spice. This is a spice that we have perfected and mixed up ourselves here at Aikens for you to enjoy. For those who prefer a non fried variety, we can bake or pan sear Walleye or Lake Trout with lemons, onions, garlic and spiced expertly by your guide.
Our guides take pride in their shorelunches, and work hard to create great shorelunches for our guests. Some of the specialty recipes we have made on special request in the past include: "Baked Walleye with shallot wine sauce", "Honey-glazed smoked Lake Trout", "Parmesan Walleye" as well as "Bacon wrapped Walleye bites". Trust us, or the guests who have tasted these marvels, nobody can do shorelunches like the guides and staff at Aikens Lake!
Great setting: We have eight shorelunch sites around the lake that all feature hand-crafted fire pits, picnic tables, filleting tables, and burners. All groups can have privacy at the own shorelunch site, and no one will need to “find a rock” to sit down and have lunch. Instead, you will be served an unbelievable and unique meal in comfort and luxury!
We have also created our second large shorelunch site located on one of the large beaches on our lake. This allows for easy landing of the boats. Complete with a large cooking/serving area, these shorelunch sites are covered with a tin roof structure so you can eat your shorelunch sheltered from the sun or the rain if mothernature chose to throw some your way. These large shorelunch sites have accommodated everything from small groups to large groups of 50 people at one time.
Over the years, we have worked hard to perfect our shorelunches. With a little pre-preparation, we keep these feasts to around 90 minutes. Our Pro-Staff guides also shine at shorelunch, providing your group with scrumptious and artfully prepared freshwater delights, served buffet style in unparalleled settings. Our staff, who have been preparing these culinary specialties for years, are ready to accommodate any special requests anyone may have ... from lemon juice ... to onion rings ... to exotic recipes. It's all part of the "Aikens Experience"!
